So, here's the CDC breakdown on CLOTH masks:

Covid-carrier w/o mask, gen-pop with: 80% transmission risk of baseline

Covid-carrier w/ mask, gen-pop w/o: 8% transission of baseline

Covid-carrier + gen-pop w/ masks: 3.5% of baseline

Baseline is 0 protective equipment.
Important assumptions to note:

Masks NEED to be washed between uses. Once you are done with errands, the mask needs to be washed in hot water with detergent.

Masks need to be kept on and over one's nostrils and mouth the entire duration of trip, from leaving home to return
A cloth mask is -not- sufficient in a medical setting, as the filters are there to prevent droplet spray from being inhaled.
Many procedures prevent infected patients from wearing cloth masks... which, reduce spread by catching those droplets.
