This is exactly my perspective of the matter. There's so much material for great humor in the world, why shoot down? People who are involved in things which are perceived as "weird" and "bizarre" tend to already have self esteem issues. They're not wrong. https://twitter.com/MikaIzScene/status/1252730980386955267
It doesn't help that I just came to Twittr after seeing a YTer, someone I once had respect for, use their platform to explain why Furry "cringe" is a choice and use the only scientific study about them to justify it. EVEN pointing out their low self esteem as if that was a choice
I'm not a furry. I'm not into inflation. I have friends who are, and they are genuinely some of the nicest people I know. They go through the "oh haha yeah that's funny!" painfully awkward ordeal any time society shames the things they care a lot about. I'm tired of watching it.
I know we've lost sight of the joke in this thread, but I hope it does bring awareness to everyone who reads and likes this.

It's okay to be different. It's okay to like and identify with things that are harmless, even if the world criticizes, mocks, and ridicules it.
