For starters, I currently rank Bryant 3rd in my 3B rankings (Rendon, Bregman) and that is because IMO I want more offense than defense
Kris Bryant 2019:
.282 AVG
.382 OBP
.521 SLG
.903 OPS
.379 wOBA
135 wRC+
4.8 WAR
11.7% BB
22.9% K
In just one season he beat Matt Chapman in all of those expect WAR, he beat Arenado in OBP, BB%, wRC+, these 2 seem to me like the biggest competitors for KB

Kris Bryant’s “decline” since his MVP year 2017-19:
.284 AVG
.390 OBP
.511 SLG
.901 OPS
.382 wOBA
137 wRC+
12.4% BB
21.6% K
13.9 WAR
Keep in mind KB suffered a shoulder injury in 2018 but that’s not to make excuses

In 2018 when he was injured and played 102 games:
.272 AVG
.374 OBP
.460 SLG
.834 OPS
.359 wOBA
126 wRC+
10.5% BB
23.4% K
2.3 WAR
Yea not great. However an injured Bryant put up a better wRC+ & wOBA than Matt Chapman did in 2019

There can even be an argument made that Bryant’s ‘17 was as good if not better than his ‘16
‘17 vs ‘16
AVG: .295 vs .292
OBP: .409 vs .385
SLG: .537 vs .554
OPS: .946 vs .939
wOBA: .399 vs .396

As you can see through, Bryant clearly was getting better and better every season until the unfortunate shoulder injury which set him back from June ‘18 - April ‘19 especially with the amount of stress put into the swing
Bryant March-May 2018
.286 AVG
.404 OBP
.521 SLG
.925 OPS
wOBA: .393
wRC+: 148
BB%: 12.5%
K%: 16.8%
So clearly, Bryant was about to put another monster season until the injury which as stated would hurt the rest of the year and little bit into next year

But Bryant in the first half of ‘19 finished:
.297 AVG
.403 OBP
.552 SLG
.955 OPS
wOBA: .399
wRC+: 148
12.3% BB
19.5% K
Bryant was back and hitting at an elite level which helped him become an All Star for the first time since ‘16 but a nagging knee injury would come up

Overall, it’s a personal preference defense or offense which do you want more of? If you disagree it doesn’t make you wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this happens to mine. Kris Bryant still has it. Thanks for reading, likes and RTs are appreciated
Also would like to thank fangraphs for all this helpful information
