I missed 4/20 tweet storm but doesn’t mean that is the only day to talk about mass incarceration. This a REAL issue affecting black and brown communities all over the United States and in order to make a big shift towards justice we need to #legalizemarijuana

Both Black and white people use marijuana at the same rate yet Black people are 4x more likely to be arrested for possession of marijuana. States waste trillions of dollars every year in enforcing marijuana laws when in most cases arrest are for small amounts.

While POC’s serve far more time in prison for possession and selling of marijuana 81% of current legal businesses are owned by whites all the while Black and Brown folks own 19.1% of marijuana businesses COMBINED.
While we could continue to waste trillions of dollars across States to enforce marijuana laws while the gap in wealth between white distributors and black distributors increases we could shift to the legalization and regulation of use of marijuana.
