I know that lock downs and quarantines aren& #39;t easy, but here& #39;s why big changes now would be

Here& #39;s the thing, many States are working hard to flatten or plank the curve. There& #39;s so kuch to be proud of and we& #39;re seeing results, but not enough.

Letting up now will squander these gains and swamp the system with new cases.

Patients with inflammatory arthritis and other chronic illnesses and #disabilities are just as vulnerable now as we were before.

I& #39;m grateful for what has been done, but the science around treatments & cures haven& #39;t caught up.

Beloved,

We are all worthy of our own lives.

We& #39;re worth the investments public health required during this pandemic and at any other historical moment.

Don& #39;t wait for validation that may never come, or carries an unreasonable price. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đź’•" title="Two hearts" aria-label="Emoji: Two hearts">

YOU are worthy.

I have many essential workers in my life.

Most are in healthcare, other in retail. They& #39;re past hanging by a thread with stress. It& #39;s not fair to open up right now.

It& #39;s uncomfortable, but it& #39;s time to consider what it means to watch so many people suffer and die.

Are you okay with pouring gasoline on that agony inferno?

I& #39;m not. No healthcare worker chose to be standing this watch during the pandemic.

We owe workera doing healthcare, deathcare, and other essential jobs the respect of giving a damn about what happens to their bodies and souls. Nobody is disposable.

My experiences with my body& #39;s vicious reactions to infections tells me that I can& #39;t abide the risks.

Unfortunately, I have no alternative to living in this society/economy.

If things open, I can& #39;t imagine being able to safely shop or get healthcare for many months.

How could I survive that?

It& #39;s important to mention that patients have also made sacrifices for public health.

It& #39;s NOT just typicals. This is nothing like a favor for us.

We& #39;re missing care, meds, and treatments. Our meds are being raided, with no sure replacements.

Patients in residential care need our help. They won& #39;t be safe without a widespread social response.

Most cannot "just go home". They have complex medical needs. Some have little support.
