Okay I know I have a small following but if even 1 of you shared this information/thread, it'd SOO be worth it. Biochemists from my chemical biologist best friend's grad school have developed an antibody COVID-19 test at their company, Enable Biosciences. #COVID19 [1/11]
The test needs validation and therefore, help from the general U.S. public. I’ve provided links for the following information at the end of this thread. [2/11]
So far, their assay shows 99.2% specificity from samples as early as 8 days post-onset. They have even tested their antibody test against viruses closely related to COVID-19 (like HKU1 and NL63), and the “test was not fooled by these challenging samples.” [3/11]
Scientists at Enable Biosciences feel the antibody test can be administered at-home, but they need more samples to validate their test. Enable Biosciences is a small company so they can’t quite purchase samples from huge research organizations. [4/11]
SO. Here's where we come in. They’re asking for PCR-confirmed and recovered COVID-19 patients to donate blood for their research study. [5/11]
They’re prioritizing donors in 2 ways:
1. People who were positive for COVID-19 and are local to the Bay Area, CA, or [6/11]
