Okay! So this song could be seen as a more sensual rock song by many but it’s way deeper than that he was giving us CONTEXT girls
The song highlights what the people like to call a “toxic relationship” or from my POV it’s a power struggle and Michael and this girl want to be seen as the top dog in this relationship so they both want to control the other when in actuality only one person has it
See the girl is a cold girl and whenever Michael tells her to do something she’ll throw it right back in face and tells him to do and he doesn’t like that but he’s so in love with her he doesn’t want to leave even though he threatens to but he can’t
She loves the thought of herself knowing that he can’t leave her bc it makes her feel empowered it fills her insecurities about herself as a women.
So when he tells her to “act like a lady” that’s him commanding her to do everything he says but she won’t listen to him and that hurts his ego. She wants him to quench his desire for dominance.
He doesn’t want her to understand him because if she starts to know him deeper he’ll become vulnerable and he’ll loose the power he thinks he has over her
The only time he’s seen as powerful is when it’s in the bedroom. That’s why he always wants it. That’s when he’s “on fire”
