1. #Ebola thread: The situation in DRC looks quite dangerous. Just days before the 20-month long North Kivu outbreak was to be declared over, a new case was diagnosed. Now the count is up to 6. Four are dead. One escaped care & is in the community, ie infecting others.

2. Insecurity & community resistance — still???? — are hampering efforts to find contacts of cases, vaccinate them and monitor them to see if they develop #Ebola. Only 54% of known contacts have agreed to be vaccinated. A quarter aren't being followed. This = Recipe for Disaster.

3. In addition to the problems that have plagued the response at Beni since Sept. 2018, there are money problems. @WHO says it urgently needs $20M to do the work to shut this down. God help those people if #Ebola resumes spreading at significant levels.
