Today I learned Urbana University, the Ohio university I was fortunate enough to have done a residency in 2019, is closing due to impact of coronavirus. Permanently. Having been open non-stop since 1850. https://twitter.com/urbanau/status/1252621491361001474
My residency was for the Johnny Appleseed in Space project.
Apple trees on the Urbana Univerity property are from seeds originally planted by Johnny Chapman.
My residency at Urbana U was one fantastic moment after another. Enrolling students into creating a @sedsusa chapter. Sharing @ulalaunch. Revitalizing interest in the importance and legacy of American frontier legend Johnny Appleseed. Inspiring students into space careers.

I am stuck. My heart is filled with the love this man showed for and was shown by students, staff, faculty, neighbors, alumni, community, and friends and family. My heart is stuck by how can this community be over?
