A company that owns more than 100 hotels around the country – including a Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta and a Marriott in Beverly Hills – says it got 42 PPP loans totaling $30.1 million.

The company, Dallas-based Ashford Hospitality Trust Inc., did $1.5 billion in revenue last year.

Meanwhile, a closely linked but separate company that owns 13 hotels – including Ritz-Carltons in Sarasota and Lake Tahoe – got eight PPP loans totaling $15.8 million.

That company, Braemar Hotels & Resorts Inc., did nearly $500 million in revenue last year.

Ashford Hospitality Trust (42 PPP loans for $30.1 million) and Braemar Hotels & Resorts (8 PPP loans for $15.8 million) are related to each other.

The hotels owned by both companies are managed by Ashford Inc. -- whose CEO is chairman of the two hotel-owning companies.
