haven't continued watching yet but i just want to say FUCK the adults in konoha. they ruined sasuke, itachi and naruto (CHILDREN's) lives for purely POLITICAL reasons. and then did absolutely nothing to repair the damage they caused.

as much as i don't want to see sasuke destroy the village (mostly bc i still have faith in his morality) i have to say i completely understand him. he owes the village nothing and tbh konoha should be thankful that naruto is just so unfathomably nice that he can't hold a grudge.

if naruto was capable of holding bitterness or of taking his emotions out on other people, i could totally see him joining sasuke on his quest to destroy the village. the only difference between them is sasuke's more immediate trauma and the way they handle grief.

after sleeping i think i can give my thoughts on the pain arc. y'all were not wrong when you told me it was god tier. I've already mentioned how much I love pain: his motivation was so unique and his character design and music absolutely slap. i just keep listening to girei now

naruto's training, SAGE MODE WOW, and emotional journey are well done elements. jiraiya's death ties in with the plot in an excellent way, plus we get to see Naruto grieve but still stay unflinchingly himself. i also love the parallels between naruto and pain and how pain changes

jiraiya's book was written about nagato in the past, but currently applies to naruto. and BOTH characters recognize that and are able to go towards the light because of it. GOD. TIER. WRITING.

also minato best anime dad. i barely know anything about him but now that I've seen the type of person he is im legitimately sad that he died. naruto's reaction to meeting him makes me tear up every time i think about it, it was completely utterly perfect tbh. anyway 10/10
