Hey what's up data vis experts: Blind tech educator here. I want to be part of the most important global conversation about data representation in my lifetime. Could you do your bit to end image poverty and PLEASE add descriptive alt text when you post these maps. https://twitter.com/wgeary/status/1252636419111165953
Not here to name and shame: it's Twitter's fault that this isn't a required field but is instead so hidden that most people will never see it. But here's what you do: https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/picture-descriptions
Writing alt text makes the web more legible to Blind people. It's also a great way to explore what you understand, notice and infer about an image. It's a simple reflective practice that will make you a more mindful designer, analyst & communicator. Trust me — try it please!
