honestly I don’t really see the poorly drawn cats artist complaining much about their own work
heck they probably think their arts are all masterpieces and quite honestly they’re not wrong
then there’s the artist who is beyond amazing because truly their art really is a work of art but then they start saying that they hate their own art and that having that many followers is too much pressure
I mean come on! Like I said before, everyone has a bad day or could be going through a rough patch in their life but that doesn’t mean your artwork is trash
It’s like meeting a genius who has the highest IQ on Earth who keeps saying they’re stupid and not good enough even though they can calculate a formula and solve it in 1 second
Idk maybe it’s a mentality or something? Maybe their state of mind is not in the right place?
maybe they’re just fishing for compliments. The problem with that is seeking validation from that constantly will never be enough either
The fact that they have so much motivation to create 5 pieces of art per week says the opposite. If you really truly did hate your own art that much or were struggling with finding the right style, you wouldn’t be motivated much or posting that much and wouldn’t have 20k follows
that’s why this complaining makes no sense to me. I hate that kind of negativity. I really loved their artwork but hearing how this person responds and how they talk about their own work makes me appreciate their work less now.
I can almost say that, I unfollowed you because you were putting off a negative vibe towards yourself. Your art is a part of you. So if you really hate it that much, then you don’t love the person you are.
I didn’t unfollow you because of your beautiful work but because you were being negative towards your own hard work that any other artist would have loved to have that kind of motivation and style and an audience
Face it, you are influencing others already and to drop a bomb like that on your followers is not okay. If I ever have a struggle with my art and start disliking it, I step back and take a break or let art block handle the negativity so that I don’t uninspire others
anyway I know this person won’t even read any of this since they don’t have my twitter info. And I’m not talking behind their back. I want this thread to maybe someday reach out to ppl who have run into such a problem.
I’m not trying to scold anyone. All I want is for ppl to believe in themselves and cultivate their talent positively. Memes about art struggles are totally welcome. Self hate however is not welcome.
Also I did DM that artist. I know they must have a lot of messages, 20k followers are a lot. I can imagine it’s hard to actually go through all the messages. It’s all understandable. They’re not obligated to answer or even read it.
But I had a person who has a million followers respond to me, even though she didn’t need to. She only had to read my message. But she responded anyway. I’m happy that my message made it through to her. Bless her soul.
I had written a very kind message to this artist as well, hoping that they would just at least read it. Because who knows, whatever rough patch they’re going through, they need to know that I appreciate their art.
Iike if they even drew a stick figure, I’d still appreciate it and love it. The thing is you want that message to make it in time
But what happens if that person never ever reads it? What is the point of reaching out to other artists and supporting them if they are too busy hating their own work?
wow I have written such a long thread it’s insane, I need to stop
