When people are comparing mortality rates here v elsewhere it’s important to say that some/many countries are NOT including the deaths of people outside hospitals or in nursing homes in their figures. The WHO has made this clear. Fine for broad indicators but that’s it.
Ireland includes deaths that occur outside hospital in our mortality stats. Even then it’s not simple as @MedEdHead explained so well recently. Asked WHO for list of countries counting all deaths as we are - as it will allow for better (albeit still imperfect) intl comparisons.
Will post that response from the World Health Organisation (WHO) when I get it.
