i think it’d be endearing to see roxas develop his own ideas for what a romantic relationship looks like over time... initially imitating the grand gestures he sees in movies before realizing it’s all the subtle things that really make love worthwhile

roxas at first insists, “we’re dating. i’m SUPPOSED to be doing things like this, aren’t i?”

and riku just reassures him that love can look like whatever makes them both happy and comfortable

mostly i think riku is such a perfect person for roxas to discover this part of himself with because riku is so full of love and so willing to meet him wherever he needs to be

roxas also severely overestimates riku’s own experience with relationships and is super embarrassed once he realizes this because, “what! i thought you were supposed to be the expert over here! what is this? the blind leading the blind????”

riku: has absolutely no experience with romance but somehow makes a pretty good first boyfriend anyway bc he’s spent a majority of his life yearning to love and be loved

roxas would be the type to feel bad for being someone’s First Boyfriend
