I don’t wanna pretend to speak for the millions of other folks pushing Biden on climate, so I’ll say:

1. Biden’s climate pdf is not representative of what we should expect him to do in office (same was/is true for Inslee, Warren, and Sanders). PDFs are not a totem for priorities https://twitter.com/drvox/status/1252694860169007104
2. Presidents only get 3-4 things to push in their first term (maybe their entire admin). For me, the theory behind pushing Biden to be more ambitious on climate is as much about forcing him to make it one of those 3-4 priorities if elected (thinking it is now is pure fantasy).
3. And even if @drvox is right that only “5” of “200” is possible in 2021, I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect Biden, left as is, to fight like he’ll need to fight to get that 5er. Thinking he would without grassroots pressure is, again, fantasy.
4. Bless his heart, but Biden is being advised by a former natural gas industry exec who made a name for herself by authoring the Obama Admin’s “All of the Above” and “Natural Gas is a Bridge to the Future” strategies.

We really think he’ll do anything on climate w/o pressure?
5. And lastly, whether or not Biden wins, forcing him to adopt a more ambitious climate platform is part of a longer-term project to keep demanding (and winning) more. How do you think all these state and local level GNDs came into being? Fairy dust?
6. Every day spent demanding more action on the climate crisis is a day well-spent.
