Everyone always waxes poetic about chasing your dreams, but I feel like you don't often see people talking about what to do when you give up on them. Maybe that's seen as too "negative" to be addressed.
There's never going to be an easy answer to it though. If it's a dream, it's something you desire enough to push and push to make it a reality, but if that never comes, what do you do, right?
At some point it's realistic to just accept things as they are and embrace who you are, even if that person isn't who you thought you'd be. You can try to fight it, over and over, but in the end some things will just never be. I think that's alright.
But I think the most important thing is to realize that you're never alone in that sentiment. You might feel like it, but there's so many people out there just like you, who tried and failed. You always hear "just keep trying, never give up" but I think that's often false hope.
Life is crazy. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. What's important is appreciating the chances and opportunities you were given, even if you feel like you failed to make the best of them.
There's always something out there, even if what you wanted is out of reach.
