The stars have shifted with time, so what was a 0deg Aries back many many years ago is now 24degrees Aries.
ex: if you are 25 deg Aries sun with tropical, you are likely a 0 degrees Aries in sidereal.

Sidereal is considered to be the astrology of the soul, with the soul being defined as fixed no matter what year it is. So some say we should use the fixed star (aka sidereal) system when trying to learn about our nature.
