The President called up an additional 73,180 troops to serve during the period of 2nd April to 26 June 2020 to help enforce the lockdown and there after. That& #39;s a few days over 12 weeks at a cost of R4,590,393,940.00

Nice even number there, now get your calculators out.

R4,590,393,940.00 divided by 73,180 equals to R62,727.43 per individual* at R20,909 a month*, which is R5227.28 a week* and R746.75 a day*

Not a heck of a lot right?

Why the asterisks you may ask? Well that& #39;s working on the total figure in the letter.

Those figures are not taking into account, transportation costs, accommodation costs, nutritional costs as well as individual rankings per personell which all forms part of that figure. Not everyone of those soldiers are going to earn the same amount as it depends on ranking.

So effectively they& #39;re getting much less than those calculations I& #39;ve given you. So why are we dropping all this money on the military? Well because there& #39;s individuals out there who aren& #39;t obeying then lockdown and a lot of unrest in poorer communities that need to be policed.

As much as we want to throw a hissy fit and find fault with EVERYTHING the government is doing, it& #39;s not difficult to sit back and workout exactly why they are doing it. Remember, they didn& #39;t cause this shit but they& #39;re trying to soften the blow on human lives.
