Not many will read this thread but I wanna write about CHURCHES and Pastors. Many big churches are on tv right now , they use mostly community tv channels that are on DSTV. Channels like Soweto TV ,1KZNTV, BAYTV and many others get income from the churches

70% of the income for community tv channels comes from churches. Many channels have been able to sustain themselves, pay staff salaries and keep the lights on through this income. Community TV dont get any government funding, they hardly get tenders from

Government. There is very little income from commercial advertising as the community tv now competes with commercial channels like mnet and mzansi ban ban

The churches not only indirectly pays lots of people through them being on tv . They also employ the media crew that works in the churches . Those people you see following the pastor around with the camera they get an income

Some big churches even employ call center staff , office staff, events staff all these people are paid monthly there is very few people who do all of the above for free or as a form of giving back to the church

I hope this thread will educate people against stereotyping churches because they have given alot back to the community. With the churches closed many people are feeling the pinch

Many channels are feeling the pinch . Some wont be able to pay their staff at the end of the month. Some people wont get an income from the church itself at the end of the month

All in all I just want to say dont bash and ridicule something you have no information about #LockdownSA #cyrilramaphosa
