Glasgow pubs and clubs of the 80s and 90s, remember any of these?
Bottom row, Cardinal Folly settles an argument I’ve been having in my head about whether it was Folly or Follies.
The Rock Garden and the Sub Club were my life for three years; people dressed up, hats were worn, soul funk and jazz were played, then house music came along and ruined everything.

Henry Afrikas, I went there as a young mod on my scooter to see Geno Washington live. Thought it’d be full of mods but it was all frilly New Romantics dancing like the dwarf from Simple Minds. Still, I had a spliff with Geno.
Chimmi Chungas, I used to go there to steal toilet roll when I had a flat round the corner but no money. The funniest guy I ever knew, Jimmy from the Vaselines worked there and knew what was up and saw me a few drinks. Damn that guy was funny.
The Cul de Sac had a great happy hour: £1 a pint from 5 till 7, it used to produce so many student casualties. They used to have an infamous ball at Christmas in the Tunnel, my mate banged a girl at it once, thirty years later she works for me. Well, she did till this lockdown.
