Finished #FF7R last Saturday and.. it's one of my favorite games of this generation. Despite its unfortunate shortcomings that range from clumsy to bizarre, I was overall blown away by Cloud's journey through Midgar from start to finish. This is the HD FF game I was waiting for
You can tell that #FF7R had a rocky development by its inconsistent visuals or some weird design choices - but when the game knows it has to hit, it knocks it out of the park: Characters, cutscenes, (non-aerial) combat - it nails the core aspects in my opinion (the music 😭)

Despite my nitpicks, I still consider this game to be a great template to build upon and an intriguing path forward for modern Final Fantasy games. A welcome return to form that the series strongly needed ( ..at least for its single-player entries)
