For those who don't know, I own a medical sale company. In an unprecedented time like we're living in now, it's extremely important for me to stay in contact with labs, distributors, and manufactures to see what I can do to help get physicians the supplies they need to fight

COVID-19. 4 weeks ago a group I work with put in a large order for COVID-19 antibody tests kits. I've continually informed that, even though the order has been placed, the test kits are still on backorder, and "hopefully" they will be shipped out in a couple of weeks.

These Antibody tests are a simple serum (finger prick) test, similar to a pregnancy test, and will check if someone had the Antibodies currently fighting COVID-19 (IgM) or has the Antibodies denoting immunity (IgG) to the virus. The results are returned in 5-15 mins.

These tests are rated at an 89.4% Sensitivity with a 97.7% Specificity. By screening the population, we will have a better understanding of who's at risk, who is a risk, who can help fight COVID-19, and who is not a risk at all. In order for the US to go back

to some semblance of normalcy, widespread implementation of Antibody testing must be done. Now what I am saying is not new information. These Antibody tests, with this kind of accuracy, have been around since the end of Feb.

Unfortunately knockoff tests with very low accuracy also went into the market, which has caused disruption, and hurt countries, like the UK. The COVID-19 Antibody tests that I work with are manufactured in the US, under the strictest guidelines, to insure the

highest accuracy possible. Two companies that are doing all they can are Syntron Bioresearch from Carlsbad CA, and Nirmidas Biotech from Palo Alto CA. These are the kinds of tests that have been slowly going out, but not at the rate that the country needs to re-open.

The first of these tests was made available in the middle of March, and yet we're still horrendously behind on the numbers we need. Right now, personally, I should be telling Clinics, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Doctors Offices "I'll have "X" units to you by tomorrow"

instead of "I'm still waiting and I don't know when these kits will come in". The reason I'm posting this is because I want to make a call to action. You may not be a Doctor or Nurse, someone who is on the front lines fighting COVID-19 everyday,

but if you are a Citizen of the United States of America you can still take an active role in fighting COVID-19. I'm imploring people to contact their Senator or House Rep, or both, and let them know that the companies trying to produce these tests need help.

They need the raw materials and production capacity to produce enough of these kits to get our country back to normal. There have been some estimates that the US will need 5 million of these tests per day. The only way to meet that demand is with the help

of the Federal Government. So please, pass this information along, contact your representative, and let them know that you want wide spread availability of the COVID-19 Antibody tests, that are manufactured in the US, so we can reopen the country safely and without fear.
