First thing is first, EVERYONE’S HAIR IS GROWING. However, most times your hair is breaking off so you don’t reap the length benefits.
So here are 5 tips to help you better retain length!
Tip one : MOISTURIZE
A lot of breakage stems from people not moisturizing their hair correctly or at all. This calls for some experimentation to figure out what products best helps your hair lock-in moisture! Also, knowing your hair type! (Low Porosity/High Porosity, Thick/Thin)

Tip Two: FINGER DETANGLE
I know a lot of us dread this process but it really does help a lot with preventing breakage/ripping out your hair because with a comb it’s harder to gauge how rough you are being with your hair. Plus with knots you can carefully remove them...

without ripping your hair out.
Also, if you can’t bring yourself to finger detangle then make sure your detangling with a WIDE-TOOTH COMB and a product with A LOT OF SLIP, so you can maneuver your hair much easier!

Tip Three: CUT OFF SPIT ENDS
Ya’ll your hair is ALWAYS growing okay. It may seem like it’s not because you are not reaping the benefits of growth but a lot of times that is because we are trying to hold on to raggedy ends to say we got some hang time. NOOOOOOO

Healthy hair is always the goal and with healthy hair comes LENGTH. So please please cut of those ends. Your hair will thank you later

Tip Four: KEEP YOUR HAIR STRETCHED
This is especially for my 4C babes okay? Keeping your hair stretched helps you stray away from fairy knots, tangles, and spilt ends because your hair strands are not bunched up, shrunken, and wrapping all around each other +

As it would be if your hair was constantly in its natural state. Which brings me to tip number five!
Tip Five: PROTECTIVE STYLING
Okay ladies and gentlemen protective styling is a great way to grow your hair and retain length because it helps you lock in moisture and keep your ends protected if you do it the right way

Now protective styling is not covering your hair 364 days out a year and not ever touching it or letting it breathe. That is NOT protective styling.
Protective Styling is a low maintenance hair style that you still moisturize, wash, and clip those raggedy ends

Some protective styles include:
-Twists
-Mini braids/twists (using just your hair)
-Braids/box braids
-Wigs
-Crochet
-Just any style that keeps your hands out of your head and ends protected.

Now remember everyone is different and all hair is not the same. What works for someone else might not work for you!
You have to invest the time to know your hair if you want it to grow and retain length.
