Nubia’s Origin: a thread

Nubia is a Themysciran Amazon who became Themyscira’s first champion for a different mission. Her mission was the guard Doom’s Doorway to Tartarus and prevent demons escaping to the mortal world

During her adventures, the Gorgons gave her the cold sight the ability to turn people to stone as part as a debt owed to Nubia helping them. She fought for years and years until after one battle with a demon left her gravely injured. The Zoroastrian god of light Ahura saved her.

Ahura nursed her back to health and they fell in love. However, a demon named Ahriman carved the heart of Asura out of him and fled with Nubia hunting him down

Diana and several amazons met Nubia while fighting soldiers from Gorilla Coty who infiltrated Tartarus. Nubia was furious with them for letting the soldiers attack the underworld. Diana didn’t recognize her so it was assumed that Themyscira though Nubia had perished

Nubia later teamed up with Diana, Artemis, and Akila to defeat the Gorilla soldiers.

Diana later met Nubia again in New Vegas while investigating a metahuman incident.

Diana and Nubia would talk about their experiences being champions of Themyscira and later teamed up against Constance who was powered up and mind controlled by Ahriman

Nubia tried to use the lasso of truth on Constance but it burned her instead

They found out it was because Constance had a piece of Ahura’s heart reforged by the god of lies inside her

Diana and Nubia again teamed up to take down controlled criminals by Ahriman. Nubia used her cold sight to save a child

After Nubia and Diana defeated Samuel, Nubia took Ahriman back to the underworld and was not seen until Rebirth
