Second, I’m sure that you are aware that the President of @TGC in a confessional Presbyterian (PCA). The chairman of the board of @TGC is a confessional Presbyterian. Many of the Board & Counsel of @TGC, myself included, are Confessional Presbyterians.
Third, my involvement in @TGC in no way compromises my commitment to or enthusiasm for confessional Presbyterianism. Just as Charles Hodge of Princeton happily participated in the Evangelical Alliance in the 19th century, so also I happily participate in @TGC today.
Fourth, I am sure that you are aware that an interpretation of the law that almost all historic Presbyterian, Baptist, Congregational, & Anglican confessions of faith consider antinomian is so dominant in some quadrants of evangelical biblical studies that students do not ...
...even realize its novelty. So, I try to remember that in the judgment of charity, even as I advocate for the traditional view, which I consider (along with almost all the historic statements of reformed Protestantism) to be more biblical.
I further try to bear in mind that many, if not all, of the advocates of this modern interpretation don’t mean or intend to be antinomian or to foster an attitude of flippancy to the commands of the word nor diminish the role of obedience in the Christian life.
