ugh i finally read the anti-twwb piece everyone's talking about and it's complete horseshit.

do urself a favor. don't trust critics who are hesitant to appreciate things, or who are quick to belittle others' enjoyment. there's a difference between discernment and dismissiveness.

i can't even imagine what it's like to approach the challenge & nuance & depth & ambition of a monumental work of art like THERE WILL BE BLOOD and to only walk away thinking, "huh. dumb. i guess it's a 'men' thing. i fell asleep watching it but i'm going to write a review anyway"
