How I lost my job as a mental patients bus/truck driver.

A short thread:

It was the 13th August 2016 when I saw a vacancy post in the newspaper (drivers post) of the Namibian Sun.

So I applied though I didn’t meet all the requirements

3 weeks later, I received a call that my application was successful and I should go for interview in a weeks time if I am not around town (which is in Wind central hospital).

I smiled and went to pack because I was in the north.

Went for interview, line was long but finally went in and I was lucky I knew the lady and we were good so we didn’t go through my documents anymore

Long story short..

I started driving around whk picking up patients and dropping them off at katutura hospital and vise versa on the first day.

On the second day, I had my first long trip. I was told to go get 23 mental patients from keetmans and take them to oshakati hospital..

Was like, tf? You didn’t tell me about such trips and patients

So I got the bus/truck and went... picked them up, got the list of their names and vrrrooom, we off to the north... obesa iili kekaku. Iikona ohai weelele

From Okahandja I noticed I was getting a little tired

So I called a fried in otjiwarongo so we meet up and have a drink while I rest a bit.

So he told me to go to Chezz banana.

and I forgot my bus since it was parked at some corner far from us.

At around 21:00 I decided this is enough, let me continue my journey.

When I went to the bus, it was nice quiet

the niggas were asleep. Let me go to the service and fill up so we hit the road.

So I went back were I parked the bus and left it there while we drive around ott to see if we can find them or at least some...

Came back empty handed two hours later and still nothing...

I can’t loose my job just like that,, this is my first day of the serious trip...

So I got off and handed over the list so they take them out one by one

So they took all the 23 people and the doctor came to me and said:

“Sjoe, that was long and tough trip but I see you are a tough guy too, thank you and drive safe on your way back”
