Not surprisingly, very senior folk – most recently #LordMervynKing, the former Governor of the Bank of England – are now calling on the U.K. govt to explain its strategy for managing the pandemic and specifically for how we will come out of the lockdown. 3/15

But can it really work? Since much of the transmission to occurs in the ~2 days before the onset of symptoms, presymptomatic carriers can’t know if they are contagious. So there's a ~48hr window after an index case develops symptoms to test & alert contacts. Not easy! 6/15
