Thoughts on the value of entertaining posts on social media, doing it right(?), and caveats! AKA me justifying my posts on @KitfoxGames, maybe.
Brief thread
Caveat A: Entertaining ≠ Shitposting
You don& #39;t have to be funny to have an entertaining social media presence. E.g. Darkest Dungeon.
Entertainment can be humor, beautiful aesthetic posts, thematic resonance, etc. Find what works for your studio.

Caveat B: Shitposting ≠ Entertaining
Posting a dank meme doesn& #39;t automatically mean it& #39;s funny - that& #39;s when you get the cringe silence brand reactions.
Humor isn& #39;t one size fits all anyway. Some people prob hate the way I tweet!

Caveat C: ⁿᵒᵇᵒᵈʸ ᵏⁿᵒʷˢ ˢʰⁱᵗ ᶠᵘᶜᵏ
1. People seek joy

Just because you follow a brand on social, doesn& #39;t mean you actually want to be bombarded with PURE MARKETING ALL THE TIME.
Being able to engage and relate to you builds rapport; games aren& #39;t just products anymore. They& #39;re communities.

2. Building communities matter!

Having a community means:
- Lowered marketing costs (thanks, word of mouth!)
- People with new ideas, circles of influence, etc.
- Makes your studio seem more legit wooo
- Overall good vibes

3. You can& #39;t JUST entertain

Of course, entertainment is cool but any entertaining post needs to at least be semi-relevant.
And you do actually need to be useful, or else your account becomes frustrating and like you& #39;re ignoring REAL concerns.

4. It& #39;s FUN

Finally, it& #39;s just fun to have people be excited about your game, laugh with you, or however else you choose to entertain them.
Life isn& #39;t just about hitting ~KPIs~ and your community aren& #39;t just numbers to be tracked. They& #39;re people.
