I've been thinking

Life is a lot like the contrast between Twitter & Instagram

Twitter displays what consists of your inner character, while IG is all about what people can see

While your inside is good, & expressing yourself in words helps to project your ideas to others,

your outward projection is far more important

Especially to those who know you & meet you everyday

The reason why celebrities appear so successful is their outward reputation & the charisma they are perceived to have from their pictures & videos

Too many of them have

fallen flat on Twitter because that discrepancy between what consists of their true character & their reputation becomes glaring

I also have this problem

I am a poor dresser

I just don't consider my outward appearance as so important

This has been extremely detrimental

An acquaintance recently asked for a professional picture, and I was sad to discover I had none

My family, colleagues, friends, clients, etc all respond to me based on how they perceive my outward appearance

If I'm always appearing scruffy or in worn out clothes, then it's

likely they think i must be suffering, & it makes them flee

Nobody likes to be associated with failure or struggle

We all like to mix with success

A client/friend spent almost 2 hrs recently chastising me on my dressing

I have resolved to take time out to frequently &

to consciously update my wardrobe with new clothes & good shoes

It comes at a cost, but is very necessary to project the proper appearance to the world beyond

So while Twitter, as a medium to propagate intellectual ideas is important, IG as a tool to exhibit outward appearances

is also equally vital

A famous saying goes, "man looks at the outward appearance, while God looks at the heart"

We must understand that both aspects are important

What fellow humans perceive of us is actually very crucial

Place emphasis on your appearance today
