This is NOT a scandal.

Now, there may be businesses in more dire straits than others...of course.

But if you are going to have government analyze who needs money more when EVERYONE is suffering, then you are going to have to build a system that takes weeks or months.

We don't have weeks or months.

To call this a 'scandal' is naive.

We are throwing money out of helicopters right now. That is what this is. Nobody should think otherwise. And yes, some people that are less worthy will get money.

My answer to that is, if it gets money out to others fast, so be it.

Oversight is fine and dandy in good times. Right now, if 10% of the money is wasted, I am ok with that.

SPEED IS ESSENTIAL. If you make the program 5% more efficient, but take an extra month to accomplish it, 100% of the program is a failure.

People yell 'OVERSIGHT!' as if this is some magic wand that makes everything ok.

Oversight is messy, slow, bureaucratic, full of red tape. Everything we can't wait for right now.

I had the same argument about tax relief.

I would have sent $2k a month to EVERY AMERICAN.

Yes, to Bill Gates and Warren Buffett too.

Why? They don't need it. But it would have been FAR FASTER. No red tape, no barriers...just money flowing out.

You could always tax this money 100% back from the rich next year. Sure, they got a small 0% loan, but since interest rates are 0%...

By adding income restrictions, etc, etc...we have slowed the process DRAMATICALLY. By probably a month or more.

This isn't just damaging to our economy...it has really crushed the poor and middle class.

For almost no gain whatsoever.

Now that is a REAL SCANDAL.
