So we have this neighborhood dog walker... he is up ALL hours of the day walking the block. Hes a true inspiration bc it’s fairly clear that he was in some sort of traumatic accident bc of the way he walks. So he catches me when I was out gardening& he shares his story... oh my—

(From a safe distance) he struck up a convo with me saying how he has awful insomnia and walks dogs for PT. I asked him what had happened... he tells me he was a paramedic 10+ years ago and received a call saying they needed to help a woman who was in labor

When they arrived at the home they found out this woman was over 700lbs... they had to break the banisters on the staircase to transport her down. But on their way down the stairs she broke the stretcher and fell on him. Broke his spine... he spent the next 8 days in a coma

But he woke up paralyzed and after having 19+ surgeries he’s spent everyday since the accident re-learning how to walk. THIS MAN. broke his damn back and is still finding ways to give back to the community by walking dogs. Health care workers are FRICKEN heros
