Is it time players start using banned substances to enhance their performance?

That is if they aren’t already.

(A Thread)
Two of the main reasons why some Performance enhancing (PE) drugs are banned is due to an athlete gaining an unfair advantage and the potential health risks taking PE drugs.
But if everyone at the elite level was taking PE drugs it wouldn’t be unfair and if it was done in a medically controlled way that would reduce the risk of harm to the athlete.
For a sport with such a huge physical out aerobically and anaerobically plus the amount of games, the lack of positive tests is suspicious.

If PE drugs were used in football I imagine it would be to speed up recovery.
The main reason for the use of PE drugs is Capitalism.

The premier league is a billion dollar industry.
If there was a way to make football as a spectacle better, thus making more money, do you think those at the top would say no?
There's huge pressure to perform. If you were a 17 year old at a club and the doctor offered you some pills and promised they’d improve your performance:
Would you take them?
What if the other academy graduates use them?
And all the professional players at the club use them?
It is easy to imagine that those at the top of the tree in football wouldn’t want any players to be caught using PE drugs, it would ruin the image of the football and more importantly those at the top would lose money.
Now we approach the prospect of a mass TV event where teams could play 2-3 times a week until the season finishes.

Does that give teams with bigger and more capable squads an unfair advantage? Does it also pose a health risk to the players?
But if everyone at the elite level was on the same PE drugs and it was administered safely by team doctors.

That wouldn’t be unfair and due it being medically controlled the potential risk to the athletes would be minimised.
