Following are a series of tweets which I believe, prove that manusmriti was interpolated and edited by the British. As we know manusmriti includes many controversial verses in respect to supression of women, degradation and atrocities committed on shudras, supremacy of brahmins.

In the epic of #Mahabharat, king dhritrashtra kept a shudra advisor, the wisest in the land, Vidura.
There have been many #shudra kings namely, mahapadma nanda, #mauryas #palas #eklavya yalamber, raja kota bhul, bunda sing meena, and the list goes on and on.

In the great epic of ramayana, lord Ram is said to have eated fruits which were already tasted by Shabri, a Shudra, which indicates equality.

Which proves that shudra were not poverty stricken & exploited by other castes.
When the #British were seeking a legal framework to rule Indiathey chose manusmriti because of its wide ranging legislation covering state affairs, crime & punishment and social & religious matters.

The British asked their native informers if there was any code of Hindu- the native informers revealed the manusmriti which was then copied, interpolated and edited with help of learned brahmins.

Thereafter the British conducted caste consensus in 1864 for social engineering.

Soldiers were recruited from warrior caste
Teachers from brahmin caste.
Contrary to popular post modern ideologues brahmins never sustained political power.
Since knowledge was passed over orally and not penned, most people never knew what was written in the original manusmriti

The manusmriti which is available today was translated from sanskrit by sir William Jones who allegedly was involved in interpolating the texts.
British colonials constructed manusmriti as legal texts for Hindus in India which was by that time edited and interpolated.

The fake version promoted brahmin supremacy, suppression of women & explotation of shudra to drive a wedge between them, their main purpose- form dissimilarities between hindus and start converting the shudra to Christians to stop them from revolting against their opressors.

The British administration began codification of hindu and Muslim laws in 1772 which in fact devalued and retarded those dynamic social systems.

Dr. Dilbar Bharti wrote in his book 'Constitution & criminal justice administration', pg 16 that, in a research it has been found that out of 2865 verses, only 1214 verses are original and the remaining 1471 are interpolated.

Manusmriti 2.137 states that one earns respect due to wealth, company, age, actions & knowledge in increasing order. There is no mention of family caste or lineage. Then how can it include something so contrast in opinion as supremacy of brahmins? It's because its it interpolated

Manusmriti 10.65 asserts that Brahmim can become shudra and vice versa, same goes for kshatriya and vaishya.
Manu himself announces in manusmriti that veda alone form the foundation of dharma(2.8-2.11)
Vedas are the quintessence of justice, equality & ethics in the world.
