Even if you said this would raise class conciousness it’s almost certainly better to politicize people who are not politicized or people who are in direct confrontation with capitalism. It’s not like majority of conservatives are like this, most who would be receptive are left

It’s a contradiction to say that you want to build working class power by talking to conservatives because there comes the assumption that conservatives are somehow representstive of the true working class when there exists more receptive groups out there?

Which is a racist and white assumption, and ignorant of the real material conditions of building class consciousness. You can’t say “I want the left to win” while also saying “we should focus more on debating college conservatives who are politicized and dogmatic”

Also it locates itself in a more aesthetic, idealist theory of politics than anything where if you just debate people it will turn out well and people will somehow jsut buy the image more than their real material conditions, lmao

Also idealist because these same class reductionist marxists look simply at the aesthetics of conservatives and assume good faith while ignoring all the dogwhistling made by their respective communities. In the same way, they just buy narratives based on surface level stuff
