Recruits / Coaches

I greatly appreciate the highlight videos, they have been a MAJOR asset during this time. Wanted to share some thoughts on how to maximize them for us Coaches... Here's a small thread...
1. With hudl the circle / arrow / "check this out" effect, if you can go without it. It makes the video much longer, and disrupts the flow. We can identify you by number, and the fact its your video.
2. Swap free throws for more impactful clips. If you don't have highlights for scores, we would rather see defensive clips, rebounding clips, passing clips...show your all around game. We pay attention to that.
3. Be mindful of song choice. It should go without saying but please use edited music. Its not about what songs you like. Most time I watch on mute. OR play the audio so we can hear you communicate.
4. It doesn't have to do too long. If we like what we see, we will probably request a full game anyway. 2-3 mins max.
5. If you're a shooter - show levels. Catch & Shoots, Off the Bounce, from deep, contested, pressure makes..etc
6. All positions - Show plays you make without the ball. Basket cuts, good reads on screens, YOU screening for others...
7. It's ok to add a longer clip if it shows an important sequence. Defensive stop leading to a big basket, and another stop etc...
8. Be mindful of who the clips are against. We want to gauge you vs. the BEST competition...we can usually tell if the comp isn't that good.
9. Sprinkle in some intangibles - picking a teammate up, getting folks into a huddle...high fives!
10. Finally, make it accessible...Pin it to the top of your Twitter, post it to your IG, update it to your Hudl page. Can't tell you how many I've stumbled across because it's featured.
Hope these are helpful during these times. Good Luck! & Go Friars! ⚫️⚪️⚫️
