Atlanta is nearly finished with a major effort to test for the COVID-19 virus among people who are homeless. More than 2,000 have received tests. That uncovered about 30 positive cases in shelters. https://www.wabe.org/atlanta-tests-more-than-2000-people-who-are-homeless-for-covid-19/
Earlier this month the city opened an isolation center for people with the virus in a downtown hotel. Now, this week, Atlanta will open a second hotel for those who don't have the virus but are high risk.
Interesting thing is that this ended up being a rare example of near universal testing in Georgia. The tests were voluntary but were available to people with or without symptoms. Most of the positive cases had no symptoms.
