Spotted this gorgeous, huge moth fren this morning out by the garage this morning. Easily a 6” wingspan and sooooo fuzzy. I have *never* seen a moth like this around here, but @inaturalist assures me that they are common. Ceanothus Silk Moth, Hyalophora euryalus.

I’m going to keep an eye on it because I’m hoping to figure out if the wing wrinkle is a defect or if this thing just hatched out? I’m not a moth person, so maybe that’s obvious to someone else out there ... ?
