Just a public THANK YOU to the casting directors/industry folk around the world offering their time for actors right now. They don’t have to but they are. Even more amazing is that it’s becoming a new normal. But with that, frustrations are rising and so are expectations...

Please remember people offering 1-2-1’s etc have their own lives and are also worried, just like us, about paying bills/home schooling/looking after their mental health and so on. They don’t owe us anything. Very understandable that wait times/not being successful is demoralising

But there are tens of thousands of actors in the U.K. and only 24 hours in a day! Everyone involved is doing their best, it just so happens that actors are the ones scrambling to be seen because there are SO GOD DAMN MANY OF US!!! While the 1-2-1 opportunities are fantastic

I personally have not been putting myself forward for them. The process isn’t great for my mental health, too much out of my control! So I’ve been submitting myself for solicited self tape challenges, writing scripts, learning/recording monologues. Things I DO have a handle on.

So if you’re not enjoying the process...don’t do it!! You’re not a “bad actor” for not participating. These offerings should make you feel POSITIVE, nothing less! Frustration is understandable but it pretty amazing there’s anything to be frustrated AT in the first place atm
