One common thing I notice on here/including Catholic twitter is the amount of men simping. Now, there’s nothing wrong with being nice to a girl. In fact, it’s healthy. But it gets to a point when a man agrees with a woman on literally everything that it becomes weird.
For example, let’s say two friends, a man and a woman have a little argument. The woman takes the disagreement too personally, so much in fact that she starts mistreating her male friend. The man relents, and starts agreeing with her, just so she will no longer be mad at him.
This doesn’t appear to me as healthy, it comes across as simping. In the words of a good friend on here, https://twitter.com/golden_harpist/status/1252451996667449351?s=21
Chivalry is great, it’s what a man should do. The extreme of that is simping, which comes across as weak and effeminate.
You’re allowed to have your own opinion, regardless of what your wife/gf/female friend may think of it.
Be a man, take a stand and hold firm of your convictions if you believe they are sound. Don’t relent to your lady friend just so she won’t be upset at you. It’s something I see a lot online. Don’t “yass Queen” her. You don’t have to worship us lol.
If she mistreats you, calmly tell her that it’s not right. Then agree to disagree on the topic and move on.
A reason why I like talking to men more is that they don’t hold disagreements too personally. I’ve seen men on here get into harsh verbal fights- it gets ugly and the next day they calmly talk to each other like it’s nothing. They’re still buddies.
I think women should adopt that behavior more.
