I'll let you know soon about how I ended up having an absurd number of pencils in my office, but would you first like to guess how many "an absurd number of pencils" is?
So, I don't know if you've heard, but there's a pandemic going on. And kids need stuff to do, so my daughters have been attending free online art classes from @cassiestephens. They've been having a wonderful time.
Teacher Cassie held a giveaway, with the prize being a giant pencil and a selection of products from Dixon Ticonderoga. Well, our kiddos won. We thought (and I think Teacher Cassie thought) that maybe we would get a couple of those giant pencils and a few boxes of pencils.
Well, I don't know exactly why, but I guess Dixon Ticonderoga decided it was easier to send us boxes of pencils. Like probably just as they store them and send them to stores.
They sent us traditional pencils, noir pencils, neon pencils, mechanical pencils, and the giant pencils. TWO GIANT BOXES OF EACH (except the giant ones).
And I don't mean the boxes you buy at the store, I mean like cardboard mailing boxes that hold 12 individual boxes within them, and within those boxes are the actual boxes you buy at the store.
So the tally... are you ready?
4,320 regular #2 pencils
2,592 neon pencils
1,728 noir pencils
288 mechanical pencils
15 giant pencils
That's 8,942 PENCILS!!! And we put them in my office, because where else are you going to put them?
We'll figure out something to do with them other than just have a literal lifetime supply of pencils, but for now, I'm drowing in nearly 9,000 pencils.
Oops, I had a typo. That would be 8,943 pencils, not 8,942 pencils. Just didn't want you to think I was just bad at math.
P.S. This is just some of it.
