In the Book of Matthew (13:10), Jesus is asked “why he speaks in parables?”. So many times, sections are glossed over because they are not understood. Some pastors will just read them & not explain what they mean because they are usually prophetic in nature.
Matthew 13:10 “Then the disciples came and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?" And he (Jesus) answered them, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given”(because his disciples have the “eyes to see”)
Matt 13:12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
Then Jesus goes to The Word to validate what he is saying with scripture: “Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive."
The reason so many people in the world today cannot understand what is happening nor do they know the times in which we live, is because they do not have the SPIRITUAL eyes to see, nor the SPIRITUAL ears to hear. They also lack the Fruits and Gifts of the Spirit.
Matt 13:15 “For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.”
Matt 13:16 Jesus speaking to his disciples “But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”
This is why we are seeing such a cold world today. A great falling away. Churches have gone lukewarm, they are more focused on profit than “savings”. The media from every angle is pumping all ages with anti-God messaging. It’s all sex and violence and alternate gods.
But there is HOPE - remember: God knew you BEFORE he formed you in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5). YOU my friend have been chosen for this very time. Handcrafted, meticulously designed and placed by God Himself. Think about that.
