I came to the Yard fall â17 and within my first year, I joined Alpha Chi Sigma Chemistry Fraternity
This was my first organization I joined and by far one of the most fulfilling.
I also became a member of T.R.EN.D. For me, modeling gave me a set of tools to use for life. It increased my confidence, allowed me to express myself, and made me a more well rounded young lady.
By then I was also a member of the Sophomore Class Cabinet, NSLS, HSO, and NAACP.
At that point, Alcorn had allowed me to accomplish so much and thrive at my own pace. I knew I could do more for my university. So I made the courageous decision to run for Junior Class President! #Taeagotgame
I was blessed with not one but with two summer opportunities summer 2019
The first, was my REU at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. At the end of the program, I earned âBest Presentationâ
My next stop was Purdue! I was a 2019 M@P summer scholar. Networking with other HBCU students from accross the country was an experience I cannot replace!
When I returned to Alcorn in the fall, I was a student ambassador

Serving as the Junior Class President, my goal was to put back into Alcorn all that was put in me.
My Cabinet and I saw the need for improving wherever we could. When they took straws away we took matters into our own hands

With the help of our amazing advisor, Mrs. Wallace, we were able to get approved and host Alcornâs first color run!
The purpose was to bring awareness of Pediatric Cancer in the state of MS
We hosted events catering to service, social life, and awareness.

This year, Alcorn was fortunate enough to have a FREE food pantry. With the help of over 100 students we were able to help pack the pantry.
Kaziah and I created an award honoring an OUTSTANDING student both semesters honoring Jayla Gray! This was by far the most impactful thing Iâve been apart of.
In the spring, our schoolâs NAACP hosted an image award where I was awarded the Kimberly Morgan award.
