Part 4: 1992 gigs in order.
Points of note:
1/ First of many Manics gigs. I remember Richey spat on me down the front - punk rock!
2/ Queued up at the crack of dawn to get the Cure ticket for the Barras - got driven up to Dundee immediately after to get a ticket for that gig as well but ended up missing it for some reason (exam?)
3/ Nick Cave and PiL on consecutive school nights at @TheBarrowlands
4/ Less gig tickets as club nights (and all that went with them) started to appear on the scene - just Slam at the Arches at this point, getting a feel for it before realising they were shite by the end of the year. Got myself sorted out in time for 1993.
5/ Music taste seems to be getting better by now. 92 = Neds Atomic Dustbin free zone. Phew…
6/ First Glastonbury! Primal Scream and The Orb swung it. Took a LONG time to recover from this. Left part of my brain in Pilton, etc. Didn’t make it back down till 1998…
7/ My one and only trip to Sheffield, to see Primal Scream and The Orb. I think Peter Hook came on for JD’s Atmosphere at the end. Ended up at some after hours piano/breakbeat place till it was time to get the bus back on the Sunday…
