THREAD #NRM Ineq
1. The disparity in support btw overseas & UK trafficked victims is a travesty. UK victimsreceive nothingleft unaware of their eligibility for anythingor that others qualify w. identical decisions.
If lucky, just +ve trafficked status. Move on. End of story

2. System offers no benefit whatsoever in an #NRM referral for UK victims+ve decisions fail to influence safeguarding, crim proceedings, or statutory support. NRM a mere irrelevance when it should be working as a gateway to victim recognition & support services (only if adult)

3. Why?MS legis/guid introduced w. external victims in mind hence UK victims, namely #CCE/ #CSE children/YP rendered a clumsy bolt-on to a process not built for their needs so fails to work for them.Round hole/square peg. Almost entire new guid pertains solely to o/seas victims.

4. This isn't abt pitting 2 groups but disparity/ineq where it should not exist.*All* MS victims should be treated equally.Yet we evid huge issues w. what is being sold & the ugly realitygrowing army of UK confirmed trafficked boys/girls, many now adults, for whom 0 is offered.

5. They gain no financial, educational, employment or counselling support available to their o/seas counterparts.W/out this they are simply unable to rebuild their lives but also held back by crim records arising fr their exploitation. Unsurprisingly many return to criminality.

6. We have a 2 tier syst w. victims on an uneq footing. Am a 1st/lone voice regul raising this yet can't have escaped @ukhomeoffice/LAs/Police notice that UK victims no more than a bean counting ex'cise for whom support=undeserved. @ChildrensComm @IASC @CCShaunSawyer

7. SPACE will be taking fwd this issue.Though existing for #CCE recognition/change this ineq applies to CSE too. Overwhelming evid of stat support failing to materialise but keen to hear fr CCE/CSE trafficked victims who *have* rec'd all approp entitled services w/out a fight.END
