I once fell in love with Toronto, but disillusionment has now led to full on heartbreak during this pandemic. The city's telling us to physically distance but hasn't done anything to make that physically possible in the dense downtown core. We're lucky to have space indoors.
And my family's fortunate enough to be able to figure out how to get grocery delivery despite week- or month-long delays in all the mainstream stores and delivery services.
But I've never felt like such a second-class citizen not having a car.
Toronto without theatre? There's absolutely no reason to live here.

Watch my generation of urbanites who have tried to make this city more liveable despite almost total political indifference and interference finally take the hint and take flight after this is over.
