Senate Intel Cmte released its 4th of 5 reports as part of its bipartisan Russia 2016 election interference investigation (158 pages). https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Report_Volume4.pdf
Senate Intel Chair Burr: “The Committee found no reason to dispute the Intelligence Community’s conclusions."
Burr:“One of ICA’s most important conclusions was Russia’s aggressive interference efforts should be considered ‘the new normal.’ That warning has been borne out by the events of last 3 yrs, as Russia & its imitators increasingly use info warfare to sow societal chaos & discord."
Burr: "With the 2020 presidential election approaching, it’s more important than ever that we remain vigilant against the threat of interference from hostile foreign actors.”
Senate Intel Vice Chair Warner: "The ICA summarizing intelligence concerning the 2016 election represented the kind of unbiased and professional work we expect and require from the Intelligence Community. "
Warner: "The ICA correctly found the Russians interfered in our 2016 election to hurt Secretary Clinton and help the candidacy of Donald Trump. Our review of the highly classified ICA and underlying intelligence found that this and other conclusions were well-supported."
Warner: "There is certainly no reason to doubt that the Russians’ success in 2016 is leading them to try again in 2020, and we must not be caught unprepared.”
Senate Intel Cmte Democrat/former Presidential candidate Bennet (CO): "Ever since the Intelligence Community assessed that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election to elect Donald Trump, partisans have questioned its credibility without basis."
Bennet: "After a thorough, bipartisan review, the Senate Intelligence Committee has confirmed the Intelligence Community’s assessment was well supported."
Bennet: "Under extraordinary circumstances, the men and women of our Intelligence Community fulfilled their mission to provide the nation a clear, apolitical, and independent assessment."
Bennet concludes: "The committee’s findings should serve as a potent reminder of the enduring threats we face ahead of the 2020 elections and the urgent need for bipartisan vigilance to protect our democratic institutions.”
