Archie 117 from 1961, pencils by Harry Lucey

As noted by CGD, this is the last cover for many years that connects to the subject of a story inside. After this, the trend would be for stand-alone gags on the cover.

What kind of Archie cover do you like?
The story that the cover connects to gets reprinted about every decade, because it concerns the classic indecision of Betty or Veronica.
Archie would be very happy being with Betty, if it weren't for Veronica. He knows Betty is bright and beautiful, and would do all sorts of things to make Archie happy. Seriously, dude, what more could you want than Betty?
Archie's decision can be summed up in two panels

So why is he so taken with Veronica?
Magnetism, my boy, magnetism.
Which is exactly how Archie describes it. He is actually quite happy on his own, or hanging with Jughead, but add those two girls into the mix, and he is caught in the middle.

And being in the middle just ain't the safe place to be
