Why Taylor Swift’s next album needs to be pop rock/alt pop: A thread
Her next album needs to be different from her last three; she is an ever changing artist, and it makes sense to change her style following three pure pop albums, as she did after releasing four country pop albums.
It wouldn’t make sense for her next album to be all about love, because that would be too similar to lover, and she’s unlikely to have a breakup. I think she will focus a lot more on politics and feminist with her next album, as she has been speaking up about them a lot more.
Pure pop doesn’t suit music about politics, as shown with Taylor’s recent alt pop political song Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince. This song proves she can do alt pop really well, and is a highlight of the album for many. It mirrors the songs of her alt peers like Halsey.
She also has many close friends but in the alt pop word who she could collaborate with and be inspired by. Some of these include Halsey, Lorde and Brendan Urie from Panic! At The Disco.
Here is an incredible clip of Taylor singing an alt-rock version of We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together on her 1989 tour.
Here is another amazing video of Taylor covering one of alt rock band Fall out Boy’s songs with them at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
In conclusion, Taylor Swift needs to release an alt pop album. Stream my fancam.
